The rapid expansion of electric vehicle manufacturing in India has created a fast-growing demand segment for specialised coatings used in battery pack insulation and thermal management. Unlike decorative coatings, failure in battery pack coatings can lead to catastrophic safety consequences.

India’s growing electric vehicle ecosystem is expected to accelerate demand for battery insulation coatings, especially as global manufacturers establish new plants and domestic production scales under policy support. Coatings suppliers are already positioning themselves to provide complete battery protection packages, combining insulation, fire retardancy, and corrosion resistance into integrated systems.

The battery pack segment represents a major industrial opportunity. Coatings manufacturers that can deliver certified, high-reliability battery protection systems will gain a strategic advantage in the next wave of India’s automotive transformation.
