India is targeting a dramatic expansion of its plastic products export footprint, with an ambitious goal of reaching ₹37,500 crore in annual exports over the next five years. The strategy focuses on high-value segments including engineering plastics components, medical devices, specialty packaging, and automotive plastic parts where India can compete on both quality and cost.

Key export markets include the United States, European Union, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East. Indian exporters are investing in certifications, quality management systems, and design capabilities to meet the stringent requirements of international buyers and brand owners.

Government support through the Remission of Duties and Taxes on Exported Products (RoDTEP) scheme, export credit facilities, and participation in international trade fairs is helping Indian plastic exporters enhance their global visibility. The industry is also benefiting from supply chain diversification trends that are encouraging global buyers to reduce dependence on Chinese suppliers.
