Paint India 2026, the country’s most important trade exhibition for the paints and coatings industry, has drawn significant domestic and international participation, serving as a showcase for the latest innovations in sustainable coatings, water-based formulations, digital colour technologies, and high-performance industrial finishes. The event, held in Mumbai, brought together manufacturers, raw material suppliers, equipment makers, and specifiers from across the value chain.
Sustainability was the dominant theme at this year’s exhibition, reflecting both tightening regulatory requirements and growing demand from corporate and institutional buyers for low-VOC, water-based, and bio-derived coating solutions. Several exhibitors unveiled product ranges formulated with recycled content or bio-based raw materials, signalling that the Indian coatings industry is beginning to align with global sustainability standards.
Digital colour matching and dispensing technology attracted significant interest, with multiple companies showcasing advanced spectrophotometer-integrated systems that can match any colour sample with high precision. International participation at PaintIndia 2026 highlighted the growing global interest in India as a manufacturing and consumption market for coatings. Raw material suppliers from Europe, East Asia, and North America used the platform to introduce new chemistries and establish partnerships with Indian formulators.
