The CoreWeave India data centre plan will bring 240 MW of AI-focused capacity to Navi Mumbai, after the US-based AI cloud infrastructure provider partnered with AdaniConneX. The first phase is expected to be operational by mid-2028, according to a report by Inc42 on 8 October 2026.

The campus will have three 80 MW buildings at AdaniConneX’s Taloja facility. AdaniConneX is a 50:50 joint venture between Adani Enterprises and US-based EdgeConneX. CoreWeave will be the sole tenant across all three buildings.

What Is the CoreWeave India Data Centre Plan?

CoreWeave plans to deploy NVIDIA’s Vera Rubin platform for AI training, inference, reasoning and agentic workloads. The Taloja facilities are designed for high-density AI infrastructure, with direct liquid cooling for GPU data halls and a non-evaporative chilled water system. More capacity will come online in phases after the first phase in mid-2028.

CoreWeave can add another 240 MW, which would take the potential total to 480 MW. The company also plans to open an India office and hire locally.

What Does This Mean for AI Infrastructure in India?

The deal adds a dedicated AI cloud specialist to India’s data centre landscape. Per the same report, the Adani Group announced in February plans to invest $100 Bn in renewable-energy-powered AI data centres by 2035. AdaniConneX also partnered with Google in October 2025 on an AI data centre campus in Visakhapatnam, part of Google’s $15 Bn investment, and Uber said in May it is setting up its first India data centre with the group. In June, Adani partnered with US manufacturer Jabil to build liquid-cooled AI racks, servers, storage and networking systems in India.

For Indian enterprises and startups building AI products, local GPU capacity can mean access to compute within the country, which matters for latency and for data-residency requirements.

Industry Reaction and Expert Commentary

CoreWeave COO Sachin Jain said the company is bringing “customers building and scaling AI in India” its 240 MW of capacity, NVIDIA Vera Rubin and its expertise. No market reaction or comment from industry bodies was found in the source at the time of writing.

What Happens Next?

The first phase is targeted for mid-2028, so no capacity will be available to customers in the near term. Watch for CoreWeave’s India office and hiring plans, and for further announcements on the optional second 240 MW block.
