Inner Sky Labs, the physical AI business of Miko’s parent entity, has unveiled its own foundation models for robots and machines, and is closing a ₹300 Cr (about $30.9 Mn) funding round. The details were reported by Inc42 on 8 October 2026.

Inner Sky Labs is a new umbrella brand under the same legal entity that owns Miko, the maker of children’s companion robots. Miko was founded in 2015 by IIT Bombay alumni Sneh Vaswani, Prashant Iyengar and Chintan Raikar; Vaswani is cofounder and CEO.

What Foundation Models Has Inner Sky Labs Launched?

The models are grouped in three layers. Perception models are Drishti (vision), Shruti (audio) and Sparsh (touch). Action models are Kriya, Prana and Karma. Safety is handled by Kavach, an independent layer that checks actions before execution and can block them; the startup says it has more than 20 guardrails.

On the roadmap, Kriya rises from 4 Bn to 12 Bn parameters, Karma from 4 Bn to 16 Bn, and Prana from 9 Bn to 37 Bn. The next generation will focus on coordinating multiple robotic arms, complex scenes and richer touch signals.

How Is the Physical AI Platform Deployed?

The platform is hardware agnostic, supporting industrial arms, humanoids, mobile and companion robots, quadrupeds, cars and CCTV systems. It can run via cloud APIs, on-premise, or on-device including offline and air-gapped setups. Customers can adopt individual models or the full platform, available to qualified partners by invitation.

The company says four to five large deployments across enterprises and governments are complete, including outside India, with commercial deployments starting two to three quarters before launch. It claims customers in the US and Europe and is exploring Africa, but did not disclose customer names.

Funding and Industry Reaction

The ₹300 Cr round involves existing backers YourNest Venture Capital and Keshav R Murugesh, plus new global investors. Once complete, total funding would reach $100 Mn, to be used for real-world data collection, computing infrastructure and model training.

Vaswani said: “We built these AI models ourselves, with a strong focus on safety and sovereignty,” and “This is not fine-tuned on an open source model. It is our own model.” He argues that building foundation models is too expensive for individual machine makers at modest volumes. Other Indian physical AI players named in the report include Addverb and Mowito. No independent analyst comment was found.

What Happens Next?

Watch for the closing of the funding round, the next-generation multi-arm models, and whether customer names are disclosed.
