New Delhi, March 19, 2026 — Cosmo Consumer, the consumer-centric business vertical of Cosmo First Ltd, has announced its entry into the automotive ceramic coating segment with the launch of Cosmo Guard, a nano-ceramic surface protection solution aimed at bolstering its vehicle care portfolio.
The new offering marks a strategic expansion of the company’s automotive protection suite, which already includes paint protection films (PPF) and window films under the Cosmo Consumer banner. The move aligns with growing demand in India’s vehicle care market for products that deliver longer-lasting protection and enhanced surface durability.
Targeting Durability and Surface Protection
Cosmo Guard is formulated using specialty chemicals and coating technologies developed in-house and is designed to bond with a vehicle’s paint surface to deliver scratch resistance, improved hydrophobic properties and protection against UV degradation and fuel exposure. The ceramic coating leverages silicon dioxide (SiO₂) as its resin base, enabling a strong molecular bond that enhances gloss and longevity.
According to the company, Cosmo Guard provides an expected durability of two to five years, depending on exposure and maintenance, and the product range includes complementary rubbing and polishing compounds that prepare surfaces for optimal coating adhesion while helping reduce surface imperfections before application.
Strategic Rationale and Market Expansion
The launch comes as Cosmo Consumer seeks to capitalise on rising consumer interest in premium and value-added vehicle maintenance solutions. Industry data indicates growth in demand for coatings and surface films as car owners increasingly adopt aftermarket products to maintain appearance, protect resale value and reduce long-term upkeep costs.
“The introduction of Cosmo Guard is a natural extension of our capabilities in specialty chemicals and automotive surface protection,” said Abhineesh Das, Business Head of Cosmo Consumer. He noted that the segment’s growth trajectory and customer preference for durable, high-performance surface solutions made ceramic coatings a logical addition to the company’s portfolio.
Cosmo Consumer has been positioning itself as a multi-product player in automotive surface protection, with strategic investments in technologies such as advanced window films and protective coatings that differentiate it from more traditional product offerings in the segment.
Broader Vehicle Care Outlook
Ceramic coatings represent an expanding category within the broader aftermarket car care ecosystem, often preferred by vehicle owners for water repellence, enhanced gloss and protection against environmental stressors. While performance and longevity can vary by formulation and application conditions, products like Cosmo Guard are being marketed on the strength of laboratory testing for scratch resistance, weatherability and fuel exposure resilience.
Cosmo Consumer said it plans to broaden the Cosmo Guard line in the future with graphene-based and self-healing coating variants, further diversifying its automotive care portfolio and catering to evolving consumer preferences for advanced vehicle protection technologies.
