India’s plastic pipes and fittings industry is experiencing unprecedented growth, driven by massive government investment in water infrastructure. The sector, valued at ₹15,750 crore, is expanding rapidly as the Jal Jeevan Mission and Smart Cities programme accelerate demand for durable, cost-effective piping solutions across urban and rural India.
Plastic pipes have emerged as the preferred alternative to traditional metal and concrete pipes, offering superior corrosion resistance, lower installation costs, and longer service life. PVC, CPVC, HDPE, and PPR pipes now account for over 70% of new water supply and sewerage projects across the country.
Major players including Supreme Industries, Astral, Prince Pipes, and Finolex are scaling up capacity to meet soaring demand from municipal bodies, housing projects, and irrigation schemes. Industry analysts project the market will reach ₹28,000 crore by 2028, driven by continued infrastructure spending and rising rural connectivity targets.
