Ahmedabad-based pre-press bureau Ankit Graphics plans to grow in corrugated packaging by taking on more demanding flexographic printing work, backed by a new Kongsberg X20 flexo plate-cutting table due to be installed by December 2026. Company spokesperson Ankit Darji outlined the strategy to Packaging South Asia at the IndiaCorr Expo in Mumbai, in a report published on 16 October 2026.

Corrugation currently accounts for about 15% to 20% of the bureau’s overall business. For flexo plate making in corrugated packaging, Darji said the company wants to supply as many plates as possible as a pre-press bureau.

Why Are Brand Owners Pushing for Better Flexo Printing on Corrugated Boxes?

Darji said brand owners now want four-colour flexo printing on corrugated boxes, but they still have concerns about print quality. That gap between demand and quality is the opening Ankit Graphics is targeting with higher-value plate work.

What Equipment Has Ankit Graphics Chosen?

The company has finalised a Kongsberg X20 flexo plate-cutting table with a 42 by 60 inch bed. It works with both Esko and Kodak NX workflows. Darji cited reliability, compatibility and the technology’s track record as reasons for the choice, and said he consulted another trade-shop operator about the machine during a visit to Germany. He said cheaper options were rejected in favour of a more reliable and robust solution for this requirement.

Market Reaction and Industry Response

The report did not include investment value, customer commitments or comment from trade bodies, so none is reported here.

What Happens Next?

Installation of the Kongsberg X20 is expected by December 2026. After that, the share of corrugation in Ankit Graphics’s business, currently 15% to 20%, is the figure to watch.
