Austrian injection molding machine maker ENGEL has introduced its fully electric e-mac series to the Indian market, promising significant energy savings and precision gains for plastic processors. The machines consume up to 50% less energy than equivalent hydraulic models, directly addressing the industry’s rising power cost burden.
Fully electric machines use servo-driven axes for all movements, eliminating hydraulic oil, reducing maintenance requirements, and enabling cleaner production environments critical for medical and food-grade applications. The e-mac series is particularly suited for high-precision, high-volume components in electronics, automotive, and consumer goods sectors.
ENGEL’s India launch signals growing confidence in the market’s readiness to adopt premium European manufacturing technology. Several tier-1 automotive suppliers and FMCG packaging manufacturers have already placed orders, with deliveries expected to commence in the second half of 2026.
