Hero Vida e-scooter sales reached a new monthly high in October 2026, with 27,435 units retailed in the first 29 days of the month. That is 66% above the 16,499 units sold in October 2025, and it pushes Vida’s calendar-year sales past 200,000 units for the first time.

Autocar Professional reported the figures on 30 October 2026. Vida sold 200,143 units between 1 January and 29 October 2026, which is 87,122 more than the 113,021 units it sold in all of 2025. The previous monthly best was 24,435 units in September 2026.

How Fast Is Hero Vida Growing in India’s Electric Two-Wheeler Market?

Vida holds 11% of the 1.77 million electric two-wheelers sold in India this year to date, up from 8% of 1.11 million in the same period last year. Quarterly sales show steady gains: 49,043 units in Q1 CY2026 (up 285% year on year), 57,059 in Q2 (up 164%) and 66,606 in Q3 (up 76%). Vida has crossed 20,000 units in a month five times this year. It is now the No. 4 brand in the segment, behind TVS Motor, Bajaj Auto and Ather Energy, and ahead of Ola Electric and Greaves Electric Mobility, according to the report.

What Is Driving Hero MotoCorp’s Electric Push?

The report cites petrol buyers switching to electric after multiple petrol price hikes in May 2026, along with festive-season demand. On supply, Hero MotoCorp CEO Harshavardhan Chitale said on the analyst call after the Q2 FY2027 results, released on 29 October, that the Chittoor plant in Andhra Pradesh doubled monthly electric two-wheeler capacity from 15,000 units at the end of FY2026 to 30,000 units in September 2026. The company expects 45,000 units a month by Q4 FY2027.

Hero expanded the Vida line-up to five e-scooters on 31 July with the VX2 Go FB (3.1 kWh), priced at Rs 113,000 ex-showroom New Delhi with a 128 km range. As of September 2026, Vida had more than 900 touchpoints in 475 cities, 778 dealers and access to over 5,900 charging locations, including the Ather Grid. Hero’s stake in Ather Energy rose to 32.8% from 29.88% in early August.

Market Reaction and Industry Response

Industrial Front did not find stock-market reaction or rival comments tied specifically to the October Vida figures. The report itself notes that Battery as a Service, a pay-as-you-go battery model, has been adopted by Ather Energy and TVS Motor, which shows how competitors are also shaping pricing in the segment.

What Happens Next?

The report estimates Vida’s calendar-year 2026 sales at 250,000 to 260,000 units. That depends on the festive season and on Hero reaching its planned capacity of 45,000 units a month by Q4 FY2027. Official October industry totals are due in early November, which will show whether Vida’s share gain holds.
